# Creator connection status

> What the connection badge next to a creator means, and how to get a creator connected or reconnected.

Sheer reads a creator's stats directly from Instagram, TikTok or YouTube. That only works while the creator's connection is healthy. The badge next to each creator tells you where it stands. Hover over it for details.

| Badge | What it means | What you can do |
| - | - | - |
|  **Connected** | Sheer reads the creator's stats. Their mediakit, content and report numbers update daily. | Nothing. |
|  **Missing permissions** | The creator connected but turned off a permission Sheer needs. Followers, reach and engagement don't update. | Ask the creator to reconnect and approve every permission. |
|  **Reconnect required** | The platform no longer accepts Sheer's access. The creator changed their password, removed Sheer from their apps, or the login expired. Nothing updates until they reconnect. | Ask the creator to reconnect. |
|  **Not connected** | The creator has a Sheer profile but hasn't linked a social account to it. | Ask the creator to connect. |

> Only the creator can connect or reconnect their own account. You can see the status, but not fix it on their behalf.

## What to send a creator

Send the creator the guide that matches their badge. The guides are written for creators, take a few minutes, and work on a laptop or desktop.

## After the creator reconnects

The badge updates as soon as they finish. Recent posts and profile stats appear within a few minutes. Older content and full insights follow within a day. On TikTok, reach and full insights for a video arrive 24 to 48 hours after it's posted, so very recent videos look incomplete at first.

## Instagram connected via Facebook

Creators can connect Instagram with either Instagram login or Facebook login. Facebook login additionally gives you **repost counts** and **story link clicks**.
