Sheer can only read stats from Instagram professional accounts. Instagram offers two kinds, Business and Creator, and both work with Sheer. Personal accounts don’t expose insights. Switching is free and doesn’t change your username or content. Do it on your phone in the Instagram app.

Open your profile

Tap your profile picture in the bottom-right corner of the Instagram app.

Open the menu

Tap in the top-right corner.

Go to Account type and tools

On some versions it’s under Settings and privacy first.

Tap Switch to professional account

Follow the prompts. Pick Creator or Business, whichever fits you. You can change it later.
You now have a professional account. Head back to a computer and connect Instagram to Sheer.
Insights only start collecting from the moment you switch. Posts published before the switch show limited stats on Sheer.
